Contract Rate: 7% per annum
Judgment Rate: Variable
Usury % Cap: 25% per anum
A Michigan collection agency can only apply the above interest rates.

Written Contract: 6 Years
Contracts for Sale (UCC): 4 Years
Judgment: 10 Years (Renewable)
Bad or NSF Check charges in Michigan
Commercial: 2 times the amount of the check or $100.00 (whichever is greater)

Bond: $5,000.00 to $50,000.00
Exemptions: Out of State Collectors are allowed to collect in Michigan providing their collection agency does not have any Michigan clients (creditors). A collection agency must be licensed if collecting for a Michigan client against a debtor in Michigan.
