Idaho Collection Interest Rates



Idaho Legal Rate: 12%
Contract Rate: Any rate agreed to in writing
Corporate Rate: No special rate
Judgment: 5% plus US Treasury securities base rate
Usury % Cap: Lending Practices governed by Title 28 of the Idaho Code

An Idaho Collection Agency can only charge interest at the rates above.

Bad or NSF Check collection charges in Idaho


Idaho requires a 15 Day Notice of Dishonor. 12% interest from date check returned and cost of collection not to exceed 20% and possibly attorney fees. NOTE: No attorney's fees may be awarded to a collection agency.

Idaho Collection Agency Laws


Idaho State Licensing: Yes
Agency Bond: YES - $15,000 (Renewal conditions)
Bond Renewal: Upon renewal, the collection agency shall supply the Idaho director with a statement of the preceding year's net collections. The amount of the bond upon renewal shall be in the amount of $15,000, or two (2) times the average monthly net collections for the preceding year computed to the next highest $1,000, whichever sum is greater, up to a maximum of $100,000
State Fees: $150 + $50 (Examination)
